Itinerary
Rwanda is a lush country of endless mountains, dramatic scenery, dense jungle and a natural frontier of majestic volcanoes. Hidden amongst these forbidding slopes are the endangered mountain gorillas.
Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge, situated in the foothills of the might Virungas, the chain of extinct volcanoes stretching through Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, affords wonderful views of the volcanoes and the surrounding countryside. Guest cottages and the main lodge building have been beautifully constructed and appointed, and the lodge is the perfect base from which to explore this unique and fascinating corner of Africa.
After a briefing by your national park guide, begin your gorilla trek in search of these magnificent creatures. Upon sighting them, you will spend a magical hour watching and learning about their dynamic behavioural patterns. The safari ends with an insightful city tour of Kigali and an overnight stay at the elegant Kigali Serena Hotel.
