Day 1: Lake Mburo National Park
From Kampala, travel to Lake Mburo National Park of rolling hills and open grassy valleys dotted with lakes. Enjoy a game drive in search for hippos and crocodiles and the shy sitatunga antelope in the papyrus swamps, before returning to camp. (L, D)
-
Day 2: Queen Elizabeth National Park
We have a morning game walk in Mburo before driving north to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This beautiful area is renowned for its prolific birdlife and mammals including elephant, hyena, buffalo, topi, waterbuck and Ugandan kob. We take game drives and a boat cruise to see kingfishers, fish eagles, pelicans and what is thought to be the densest population of hippo in the world. (B, L, D)
-
Day 3-4: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Gorilla Trek
After a final game drive we head south to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a large area of afro-montane forest and home to approximately half of the world's 800 remaining mountain gorillas. Tracking gorillas in their ancient homes is one of the most rewarding and special wildlife encounters in Africa, and the thrill of finding and observing these gentle giants in the heart of the forest is a memorable and moving experience. (B, L, D)
-
Day 5: Kampala
After another early morning game drive through the grassy plains of the park, enjoy the drive back to Kampala through Uganda's fertile scenery where the tour ends. (B, L)
