Stop at the Valley of Fire State Park for a hike to the impressive red cliffs and view the detailed petroglyphs, signs of the ancient cultures that lived in this region.
Today’s highlight is Bryce Canyon National Park. The snowy winter landscape provides a unique contrast to the red, pink and white spires of the canyon. This afternoon take a horse-drawn sleigh ride, go ice-skating or rent snowshoes and explore the canyon.
Travel along the picturesque All-American Highway 12 to the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. Stop at Kodachrome Basin State Park to view the colourful formations of sandstone, before viewing million-year-old fossils of tree trunks.
Visit Capitol Reef National Park and take in the solitude and incredible views. If the roads are clear stop at Sego Canyon to view ancient pictographs.
Spend the morning relaxing or independently exploring Moab. In the afternoon explore Arches National Park with its many graceful rock arch formations.
A morning drive brings you to Canyonlands National Park featuring expansive views across the Colorado Plateau. After a stop at the visitor centre, continue to the Wild West town of Durango.
Take a recommended optional ride on the Durango & Silverton Steam Train through the winter landscapes of the Cascade Canyon. Alternatively explore the restaurants and shops of Durango.
Visit the impressive Mesa Verde National Park and enjoy a ranger-led tour of the wellpreserved dwellings of the ancient Pueblo Native Americans that date back to 600 BC.
Today pass Gooseneck State Park where the San Juan River curves through the desert. Enjoy a Navajo led tour of Monument Valley and spend the night in an authentic Hogan.
Arriving in Page, wander to Horseshoe Bend, where the Colorado River creates a horseshoe shape in the sandstone plateau. An optional Native American guided tour is available through the magnificent Antelope Canyon.
Today you will reach the Grand Canyon. Stop for several short walks to viewpoints and,weather permitting, take a longer hike along the rim. An optional helicopter flight over the canyon can be arranged.
Stop at Pipe Spring National Monument andjoin a ranger-led tour to get a taste of life as an early pioneer.
Mighty Zion National Park features massive red cliffs, deep gorges and a variety of stunning hikes. In the afternoon drive to Las Vegas for your last night.
