Day 1


On arrival transfer to your hotel.

Day 2

Colombo - Anuradhapura

Enjoy a morning tour of Colombo before proceeding to the ancient city of Anuradhapura to see the central and sacred old Bo Tree, a spiritual reminder of the beginnings of Buddhism in Sri Lanka and the inspiration for Anuradhapura’s great buildings. (B)(L)

Day 3

Anuradhapura - Jaffna

Depart for Jaffna, recently reopened to travellers after decades of civil war. The city has attractive palm shaded colonial-era suburbs and beautiful temples and churches. (B)

Day 4


This morning, visit Jaffna’s charming morning market to enjoy the smells of local coffee, fruit and cigars. Tour several Hindu temples and relax at the Keerimalai Spring. (B)(L)

Day 5

Jaffna - Trincomalee

Travel to Iranamadu Tank, one of the largest reservoirs in the country, before arriving at the beachside town of Trincomalee. (B)(L)

Day 6


Spend the morning relaxing or snorkelling. The reef here is shallow and home to dozens of corals, hundreds of reef fish and turtles. View some Hindu temples and ruins in the afternoon. (B)(D)

Day 7

Trincomalee - Batticaloa

Today, travel south past the beautiful white sand beach at Vakarai before arriving at the beach town of Batticaloa. (B)

Day 8

Batticaloa - Arugam Bay

See giant monitor lizards, crocodiles, kingfishers, elephants, birdlife and monkeys on a mangrove eco-tour in Pottuvil before heading to Arugam Bay. (B)(L)

Day 9

Arugam Bay

Today is a perfect day to unwind on the beach at Arugam Bay. Later, embark on a dusk wildlife safari in Kumana National Park. It’s not rare to spot a leopard, along with elephants, crocodiles, turtles, white cobras, wild buffalo and tons of birds. (B)

Day 10

Arugam Bay - Colombo

Travel via the giant Buddha at Maligawila en route to Colombo. Back in Colombo, stop for some sunset drinks at the colonial gem, the Galle Face Hotel, and enjoy a dinner at a boutique restaurant. (B)(D)

Day 11


Transfer to Colombo Airport for your flight home. (B)
