Day 1

Kruger National Park

Your journey begins at Skukuza Airport where you will be met and transferred to Lion Sands Game Reserve in an open safari vehicle. Lion Sands Game Reserve is the only private reserve to have a foot in both the Sabi Sand Game Reserve and Kruger National Park. The Sabi Sand Reserve is the oldest of South Africa’s private reserves and the origin of wildlife tourism in Southern Africa. It is home to a vast natural animal population including the Big Five and countless other species, some of which are critically endangered. Flanking Kruger National Park, animals pass unhindered between the unfenced reserves. Known for its extraordinary leopard viewing, safari enthusiasts could not find a better place for close-contact animal sightings that many insist are the best in the world. Being privately owned, safaris are not restricted to specific times and routes. Two safaris take place each day – one in the morning and one late afternoon (into the early evening). This is when the wildlife is most active and the temperature more moderate. As Lion Sands is a private game reserve within the Sabi Sand Reserve, and in a private concession within the Kruger National Park, safaris are not confined to main roads. Guides are able to navigate through dense bush, following the tracks of animals. With a limited number of vehicles on each property, and strict criteria governing sightings, guests are able to spend extended periods of time watching wildlife in its natural habitat. Day 4

Kruger National Park - Vilanculos, Mozambique

After an early morning game drive followed by breakfast, you depart Lion Sands and make your way to your next stop, Santorini Mozambique. Just a few kilometres north of the coastal town of Vilanculos, surrounded by dense coastal vegetation and fronted by its own stretch of virtually untouched beach, Santorini Mozambique is like a small Greek village in the heart of an African landscape. With luxurious accommodation and unsurpassed elegance, Santorini Mozambique commands panoramic views across the expanse of Vilanculos Bay and the islands of the Bazaruto Archipelago from its private, elevated position. Complete with your own private chef, this is luxury beyond your imagination. This part of the Indian Ocean is best known for its sandy white beaches and some of the best scuba-diving in the world. Bazaruto National Park is one of the largest marine reserves in the Indian Ocean. Because of this, over three kilometres of reef supports over 2000 species of fish, as well as dolphins, whales and sharks. When snorkelling in this area you are likely to come across whale sharks, giant lobsters, humpback whales, turtles, dolphins, manta rays and game fish. With a wide range of activities there is always something to do. Spend your days doing as much or as little as your heart desires. (B)(D)
