A chance to hear about the latest and greatest products available and an impressive pool of prizes valued at over $9,000 saw over 70 Auckland travel agents flock to Flo Bar in Newmarket on Monday evening (March 12) for Adventure World’s annual Roadshow event.
The roadshow, which was designed to bring agents up to date with the latest tours, holidays and destinations on offer from the company for 2012, was a rousing success according to Dave Nicholson, General Manager at Adventure World New Zealand.
“We were delighted with the turnout of agents,” said Nicholson. “Apart from the great range of prizes and incentives on offer to agents who attended on the night, the feedback was that it was so useful to hear about the latest products and destinations available directly from our suppliers, many of whom had travelled from around the globe to attend the event.”
Presenters who took to stage during the evening included Canan Karaaslan from Fez Travel, Tanya Chamberlain from Brewster’s, Dan Coleman from G Adventures, Dene Stalk from Rocky Mountaineer, Rachel Williams from Viva Expeditions, Phil Hendrich from TrekAmerica and Barbara Yates from Headwater Walking & Cycling, who travelled all the way from Spain for the evening.
Nabbing one of the night’s top prizes – a 13 day Adventure around Southern Patagonia with Viva Expeditions - was John Cameron from Operatunity Travel Club, while Nigel Sieglen of Business World Travel snapped up a two week camping trip with TrekAmerica.
Luck was also on Karen Reilly’s side with the United Travel Helensville agent winning a trip for two through Western Canada from Brewster’s and Kelly Richards from Flight Centre bagging a Whistler Sea to Sky journey from Rocky Mountaineer.
