Day 1

Muscat to Ras al Jinz

Take the scenic coastal road by 4WD to Ras Al Jinz, home to five different species of turtle. Stop at the limestone crater at Bimah Sinkhole before continuing to Wadi Arbayeen with its deep pools set among the date palms, and Bibi Miriams’ ancient tomb. Check-in to the Ras Al Hadd Hotel. Mid evening drive a short distance to the Ras Al Jinz Turtle Sanctuary to observe nesting green turtles. Ras Al Jinz is world
renown for the nesting of the endangered green turtle (Cheloniamydas), probably the most important nesting concentration on the Indian Ocean. This is the only place where the public can watch the nesting process of these amazing sea-giants. (L)(D)
