Day 1

Yellowknife

Arrive into Yellowknife and transfer (on own) to your hotel. Yellowknife is set in the wondrous natural surroundings of Great Slave Lake, a remarkably modern city where you can experience rustic nature and traditional culture without forgoing urban amenities.

Whether you are driving on an ice road; dancing under the aurora borealis; enjoying a dogsled ride; or watching the creation of a brilliant northern diamond, you will enjoy the character of the city and feel the warmth of the Northern hospitality.

Day 2

Yellowknife

The Northwest Territories are known as the “Aurora Capital of the World” and Yellowknife is directly beneath the aurora oval, and one of the world’s best places to experience the aurora without light or noise pollution from cities or road traffic.  Almost every night in winter, Yellowknife’s clear skies dance and shimmer with the greens, blues and whites of this incredible spectacle.

Venture on a guided Ice Road tour and travel across barren lands, along the icy roads made famous by “Ice Road Truckers.”

Day 3

Yellowknife

Enjoy a guided Yellowknife city sightseeing tour and guided art gallery tour.  Visit the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre and the unique, snowhouse shaped Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly. Together with the Northern Frontier Visitors Centre, they are focal points for the capital region.  Shop for art (gallery store discount included) and for Canadian Arctic Diamonds, mined just a few hundred kilometres away. Dine out on catch of the day from pristine Great Slave Lake, or choose Arctic char, buffalo burgers or Baffin shrimp.

Day 4

Yellowknife

Transfer (on own) back to Yellowknife airport for onward arrangements, or choose to extend your stay and add additional activities.
