Depart the bright lights of Kuala Lumpur for the journey to the Cameron Highlands, stopping en route at Batu Caves, the largest and most important Hindu temple in Malaysia. Stop in Tapah before starting the winding uphill road to Cameron Highlands. See the Iskandar Waterfall, where a small Orang Asli village, the original tribal population of Peninsula Malaysia, might be seen, before arriving in the Cameron Highlands in the afternoon.
Continue your exploration of the Cameron Highlands with a visit to the tea plantations and tea processing factories in the area. Journey to the lakeside town of Bukit Merah with a stop at a Buddhist temple en route. Travel by boat to the Orang Utan Research Centre located on an island on the lake before continuing on to Penang. (B)
See the main attractions of Georgetown, with stops at the Thai Temple of the Reclining Buddha and the Burmese Temple. Continue on your exloration with a visit to the Khoo Kongsi, a beautiful Chinese-style Clan House and the Baba & Nonya Mansion, a picturesquw museum located near Little India and the city's St. George's Anglican Church.
