Arrival in Lombok Praya International Airport, transfer in a private vehicle to Sembalun village at the foot of the volcano. Lunch at leisure. Dinner and overnight in Sembalun. (D)
Depart Sembalun Lawang which is one of the starting points of the Mt Rinjani Trek and a traditonal Sasak village. Sembalun Lawang (1,156m) is the best place to begin on foot to reach the peak of Rinjani, known for its spectacular scenery.
After registration, start your trek from the Rinjani Trek Centre in the village of Sembalun Lawang: the climb to Plawangan II at 2,650m will take about 6 hours via POSI (1,300M), POSII (1,500m) and POSIII (1,800m).
Picnic lunch en route. Arrive in the late afternoon/early evening to Pelawangan II at 2,650m. Dinner prepared by your local team. Overnight in tent at the Pelawangan II base camp at 2,650m. (B) (L) (D)
From Pelawangan II, start early for a hard 3 hours climbing to the summit of Mt. Rinjani at 3,726m high. The goal is to reach the summit by sunrise. You need to be well rested as this is a stiff task - the final climb is nearly 1,100 meters on difficult ground. Once there, enjoy the amazing sunrise views across the Wallace Line to Bali, Mt. Agung and Sumbawa.
After enjoying the sunrise, a complete breakfast prepared by the team is ready for you. Take a short rest then proceed very steeply down to Segara Anak Crater Lake for a fantastic view of the lake where in the middle standing gently Mount Baru or “new formed mount” that is also possible to be conquered.
Continue your descent and visit the hot springs of Gua Susu and Pancuran Emas (Gold Fountain). Take your time by swimming in the pilgrimage hot springs, that locals believe to have healing powers. Lunch and dinner prepared and served at the lake. Overnight at the camp. (B) (L) (D)
After breakfast, start trekking down from Senaru crater rim. It will take around 5 hours descending to Senaru village via Mondokan Lolak and Montong Satas. The first portion of the trek offers stunning views on the Lombok north coast. When the weather is clear you can even observe the Gili islands.
After a few kilometres, you will enter deep into the rainforest and enjoy trekking through the jungle. Stop en route for a last lunch with your local guide team and porter.
Arrival at the Senaru finish point where you will be greeted by your driver. After leaving your trekking and porter team, you will depart for your transfer in a private vehicle to the well known beach of Senggigi. Remain the rest of day as leisure.
