Day 1

Delhi

On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2

Delhi

Immerse yourself in Old Delhi on a rickshaw ride to see Chandni Chowk, Kinari Bazaar – the wedding market, Asia’s largest spice market and sample samosas. Afterwards visit a community temple and see the kitchen prepare the meals that feed 10,000 people per day. A visit will also be made at Mahatma Ghandi’s house before a drive past the Red Fort and into the New City where your afternoon touring covers the President’s House, Parliament, India Gate and Humayan’s Tomb. Day 3

Delhi

This morning experience a walking tour of Delhi led by the rehabilitated street children of the Salaam Baalak Trust. The children will share their stories of life living and working on the streets. In the afternoon visit Lotus Temple followed by Akshardham Temple (B)

Day 4

Delhi - Agra

Travel to Agra by train this morning. Upon arrival, transfer to Fatehpuh Sikri to explore the deserted city. Enjoy some time to relax before an afternoon visit to the Taj Mahal, from where you will also watch the sunset. This evening see Mohabbat – The Taj Show – a live show about the Taj Mahal. (B)

Day 5

Agra - Jaipur

After a relaxed morning, venture out to see more of Agra. Start at the lesser-known monument of Hessing’s Tomb, known locally as Red Taj Mahal. Continue to the magnificent Agra Fort. Your train to Jaipur departs late afternoon. (B)(D)

Day 6

Jaipur

After breakfast head to the Old City of Jaipur, starting with the observatory of Jantar Mantar. Next door is the City Palace. Be treated with a visit inside the residential area of the royal family where you can sip a cup of tea in one of the ornate living rooms. Afterwards, drive past Hawa Mahal, and then hit the bazaar for some shopping. Inside the bazaar you will have the chance to meet a nomadic community of Rajasthan – Gadia Lohars, blacksmiths who move from place to place with their bullock carts. The last stop of the day is Amber Fort. (B)

Day 7

Jaipur - Delhi

The morning is at leisure to relax. In the afternoon embark on a specially designed walking tour in the Old City. Your train to Delhi departs in the early evening. (B)

Day 8

Delhi Kalka - Shimla

Transfer to the station to board the Shatabdi Express to Kalka, and then transfer to the toy train for the scenic journey to Shimla. (B)

Day 9

Shimla

The best way to explore Shimla is on foot, walking the lanes and trails of the town, admiring castles, temples and heritage architecture. You will also pay a visit to Book Cafe– located above Shimla’s iconic ridge. This café is run by local prisoners and aims to transform prisoners to lead a happy life by interacting with customers and providing meals. (B)

Day 10

Shimla

Spend the day in a Himalayan village with Dhami royalty, followed by a royal lunch. (B)(L)

Day 11

Shimla - Delhi

After breakfast transfer to the station for the toy train to Dharampur. From here you will drive to Kalka for the next train to Delhi. (B)

Day 12

Delhi

Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
