Day 1

Delhi

On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2

Delhi

Start the day with a visit to Jamad Masjid and then hop on a rickshaw and ride around the colourful, narrow alleys of Old Delhi. At Gurudwara Bangla Sahib you can see the temple’s community kitchen that feeds 10,000 people a day. Continue to the museum of Mahatma Ghandi before seeing the highlights of New Delhi, finishing at Humayan's Tomb. (B)

Day 3

Delhi - Agra

Travel by train to Agra. On arrival your guide will meet you for a tour of Agra Fort. Enjoy some leisure time in the afternoon before your sunset experience at the Taj Mahal. (B)

Day 4

Agra - Jhansi - Orchha

Transfer early to the station for your train to Jhansi, and then transfer by road to Orchha. In Orchha a tour of the medieval city takes you to the fort complex where you can explore the temples and architecture. (B)

Day 5

Orchha - Gwalior

Travel by road to the ancient capital of Gwalior where you will uncover the magnificent Gwalior Fort. Along with its temples and ruined palaces, a large part of the fort is now a museum housing many bizarre and interesting items. (B)

Day 6

Gwalior - Bhopal

Transfer to the railway station for your train journey to Bhopal, known as the ‘City of Lakes’. In the afternoon venture out to see the sights of Bhopal including the mosque of Taj-ul Masjid, Bharat Bhawan, the centre for performing arts, and the Tribal Habitat Museum. (B)(L)

Day 7

Bhopal

Today visit the famous cave paintings at Bhimbhetka. Inside are vivid depictions of prehistoric cave dwellers, with the oldest paintings said to date back around 12,000 years. Following this, proceed to the World Heritage-listed town of Sanchi with its stone carved stupas and domes. (B)(L)

Day 8

Bhopal - Mumbai

Fly to Mumbai. On arrival begin your city tour. If the timing is right you may see the famous Dabbawallas in action delivering lunches. Continue with visits to Gateway of India, Jain Temple, Hanging Gardens, Chowpati Beach, Crawford market and much more. (B)

Day 9

Mumbai

Transfer to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
