Ride through fishing villages and coconut plantations and along the serene backwaters of Alleppey. Cruise along the canals and lagoons that make up the beautiful backwaters of Kerala aboard a houseboat and kayak past churches, temples, villages, as you watch for birdlife along the banks. This active adventure explores the magrove forests and channels of Kerala's beautiful backwaters by bike and kayak.

After an early breakfast, you will commence your cycling for the day. Leaving the busy roads of Fort Cochin, take the beach road to your destination for the day, a relaxed beach resort at Mararikulam. Today's ride will take us along the fishing villages and coconut plantations on one side and the sea on the other. You will arrive at the resort in time for lunch and the rest of the afternoon is at leisure.
After a relaxed breakfast, cycle towards Alleppey, known for its serene backwaters. The route passes through country roads and small villages where you can see coconut husk being processed and made into coir ropes and mats. Cycle along the waters to reach Pallathurruthy Jetty to board your houseboat by noon. Cruise through the winding rivulets and canals and lagoons that make up the mesmerizing backwater ecosystem of Kerala. After dinner, you can take a walk through the paddy fields and meet the local people or take a ride to the nearby village market.
After an early breakfast, we will disembark and get on to our kayaks for a memorable trip through the backwaters. The day begins in the heart of the narrow backwaters – pushing off the dock and allowing yourself to be carried away into a mystic place. See the Champakulam Church here, one of Kerala’s oldest Christian churches, along with many other churches, temples, and villages along the banks, providing a look into the vibrant Keralan culture. This evening, you'll stay in a heritage homestay. (B) (L) (D)
Following an early breakfast, set of on your kayaking adventure, passing the famous Karumadikuttan Temple which houses an elaborate image of the Buddha. Take a walk through villages along the backwaters, watching coconut climbers at work and enjoying the experience of village life. Stay overnight at the Coir Village – a local community initiative of local fishermen and coir makers. (B) (L) (D)
Today take a gentle cycle ride through the backwater & beach areas to reach Kollam – an ancient port city with great historical significance especially during colonial times. This route takes you mostly off -road via two natural lagoons, one at Kollam and one at Paravur. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure. (B) (L) (D)
This morning, set off on your kayak to explore the mangrove forest, where trees form shady, deep caverns across the surface of the water and you'll have the chance to spot a variety of water birds. (B) (L) (D)
