Skiing between villages, we explore the deep pine forests, open valleys and meadows of the Black Forest. We stay in family-run hotels and B&Bs and spend one night in a homestay, getting an opportunity to experience local life. Ski terrain is a mix of flat and undulating tracks, covering roughly 20 to 25 kilometres per day.

Start at our hotel in Hinterzarten. Before dinner we will get our ski equipment from the local ski shop. (D)
We start with a day through the Hinterzarten forest, skiing the beautiful tracks to Rinken, at the foot of the Feldberg. The track takes us along the small Feldsee Lake, beautifully nestled in a natural cirque. (B)(D)
Today we enjoy incredible views as we traverse the highest mountain of the Black Forest, the Feldberg (1493m). Following the crest, the track is mostly downhill as it takes us to Muggenbruun. (B)
We head out for the lovely Bernau hills and head towards Sankt Blasien for a visit of the remarkable Dome and perhaps a "Gateau stop". (B)(D)
Some off track skiing today as we make our way to the Black Forest's second highest summit, the Herzogenhorn (1415m). From there, if the sky is clear, we can enjoy an incredible panorama over the Bernese Alps. We then descend via the Hochkopf pass to our accommodation in Menzenschwand. (B)(D)
Our last day starts with a gentle ascent to reach the Aulner Pass. We then glide our way down to Schluchsee, one of the Black Forest's largest lake before heading back to Hinterzarten. (B)(D)
Our trip ends in Hinterzarten after breakfast. (B)
