Day 1

Managua - Granada

Arrive in Managua and make your own way to your hotel in Granada.

Day 2

Granada - Masaya Volcano

Explore Masaya Volcano National Park and witness the most active volcanoes in the country. Discover Granada on a walking tour around the cobbled streets and striking colonial buildings. Take a boat ride around Las Isletas in Lake Nicaragua. (B)(L)

Day 3

San Juan de Oriente - Ometepe Island

Visit San Juan de Oriente and Catarina, known as ‘pueblos blancos’ or white towns with their striking colonial churches. Cross by ferry to Ometepe Island which has a rich archaeological heritage due to the mix of tribes that inhabited the island. (B)(L)

Day 4

Omepete Island - San Juan del Sur

Visit the Ometepe museum and continue to San Juan del Sur town, which hosts a small fishing community nestled in a tranquil bay overlooking the Pacific Ocean. (B)

Day 5

La Fortuna

Depart Nicaragua and cross the border in to Costa Rica. Arrive into the small town of La Fortuna, near Arenal Volcano, by mid-afternoon. (B)

Day 6

Arenal Volcano

Take a guided hike through Arenal Volcano’s secondary forest and lava fields. The high vantage points on this walk provide great views overlooking Lake Arenal and the birdlife is plentiful. (B)

Day 7

Arenal Volcano - Tortuguero National Park

Set off to the north-east of Costa Rica and Tortuguero National Park. Accessible only by boat, Tortuguero’s vast network of waterways, canals and swamps is remarkably tranquil and unspoiled. Tortuguero is probably most famous as a nesting site for the endangered green turtle. (B)(L)(D)

Day 8


This morning there will be a boat trip to discover the extraordinary flora and fauna of Tortuguero. At this time of day wildlife is usually at its most active and you are likely to encounter monkeys, caiman, iguanas, butterflies and many of the 300+ bird species. (B)(L)(D)

Day 9

Caribbean Coast

Travel to the region of Cahuita on the Caribbean coast and enjoy Cahuita’s famous white sand beach. (B)(L)

Day 10

Caribbean Coast - Bocas del Toro Islands

The journey continues alongside vast banana plantations, crossing the border on the banks of the Sixaola River and entering Panama. Board your shuttle boat to the Bocas del Toro Islands. (B)

Day 11

Bacas del Toro

Today is at leisure to explore the beautiful islands. (B)

Day 12


Take a boat transfer to the mainland. The journey continues to the small village of Boquete, nestled in the highlands and well known for its beautiful scenery and high quality coffee. There will be a coffee tour to discover the region’s most famous crop: Arabica coffee beans. (B)

Day 13

Panama City

Fly to Panama City. Upon arrival, take a guided tour of the old town, known as Casco Viejo, with its numerous colonial monuments and churches. In the afternoon visit the Panama Canal to see the spectacular Miraflores Locks in action and marvel at this incredible feat of modern engineering. (B)

Day 14

Panama City

Your trip ends this morning. (B)
