Day 1

Juneau

Explore the newly constructed Alaska State Museum, with its sprawling collection of natural history and cultural artefacts, and explore downtown Juneau. Settle into your cabin before dinner. (D)

Day 3

Vancouver - Kamloops

Travel onboard Rocky Mountaineer from Vancouver to Kamloops. You will see dramatic changes in scenery, as you depart the coast and head into the interior of British Columbia. Your day concludes with an overnight stop in Kamloops. (B)(L)

Day 4

Kamloops - Jasper

Take in the dramatic scenery as you climb to the high peaks of the Continental Divide, complimented by great service and cuisine. Your rail journey ends this evening in the resort town of Jasper. (B)(L)

Day 5

Jasper

This morning, enjoy a scenic half-day tour of Jasper National Park. In the afternoon, your licensed interpreter will lead a leisurely three hour nature walk as you explore the abundant flora and fauna. (L)

Day 6

Jasper - Lake Louise

Travel to Lake Louise via the scenic Icefields Parkway. Ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier to learn more about its geological features. (L)

Day 7

Lake Louise

Paddle on sparkling Lake Louise from the comfort of an authentic 8 metre cedar strip group canoe. Your guide will share local stories about the wildlife, indigenous people, and early explorers.  

Day 8

Lake Louise - Banff

This morning you are free to explore beautiful Lake Louise on your own. After lunch, a half-day tour takes you into beautiful Yoho National Park.

Day 9

Banff

This morning, embark on an exciting float trip. You will travel approximately 7 kilometres down the Bow River encountering Falls for your leisurely seven kilometre trip down the Bow River.  

Day 10

Banff - Calgary

Today’s highlight is a 12-minute Panoramic Helicopter Tour over the remarkable landscape of the Rockies.

Calgary

Your adventure ends upon check-out from your Calgary hotel.

Day 12

Tracy Arm-Ford's Terror Wilderness

Voyage into Tracy or Endicott Arm, both spectacular glacially carved fjords. If conditions permit, we’ll use our expedition landing craft to provide unparalleled up close views of the glacier. (B)(L)(D)

Day 13

Petersburg

Search for humpback whales as we head towards the town of Petersburg on Mitkof Island. Explore a unique Southeast Alaskan ecosystem, the  “muskeg,” with stunted trees and carnivorous plants. (B)(L)(D)

Day 14

Frederick Sound & Chatham Strait

These waters are prime areas for both killer whales and humpback whales. It’s not uncommon to observe them breaching and tail-slapping as we listen to the play-by-play from our expert naturalists. (B)(L)(D)

Day 15

Icy Strait & The Inian Islands

Hike nearby islands, kayak, and search for whales in the rich waters of Icy Strait. Conditions permitting, we’ll lower the ship’s hydrophone to listen in on the whales’ communication. (B)(L)(D)

Day 16

Glacier Bay National Park

We spend the entire day amidst the coves, fjords, tidewater glaciers and majestic mountains of Glacier Bay National Park. You’ll see glaciers “calving” — tons of ice crashing into the sea — accompanied by a thunderous sound. A native Tlingit interpreter joins us on board to share the legend of the area. (B)(L)(D)

Day 17

Southeast Alaska's Islands, Bays & Fjords

Nature is our guide as we take advantage of wildlife and weather conditions. Keep an eye out for old bear tracks as you move from forest to meadow. Sightings of bald eagles are very common. (B)(L)(D)

Day 18

Sitka - Vancouver

After breakfast we disembark in Sitka. At the Raptor Rehabilitation Center, we have close views of species normally seen at a distance in the wild — bald eagles, hawks, falcons and owls. Fly to Vancouver to commence your Canadian Rockies adventure. (B)

Day 19

Vancouver

Explore Vancouver and select one of two exclusive active adventures; a five-hour guided cycling tour of Vancouver’s highlights or cruise the Howe Sound coastline on a “Sea Safari”.
