Enjoy the spectacular landscape on the drive to Homer, with snow-capped mountains and active volcanoes of the “Ring of Fire”, deep ocean bluffs, and a magnificent coastline.
From the first breathtaking glimpse of the Homer Spit coming into town, visitors are struck by the awesome natural stage on which the little city sits. The looming peaks of the Kenai Mountains, packed with ancient glaciers and brimming with abundant wildlife, stand sentry over Kachemak Bay.
Take a float trip on the Upper Kenai River, watching for wildlife as your guide navigates through the snow-capped mountain scenery. The tour ends at a glacier-carved lake within the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge.
Enjoy a helicopter flight to the glacier base camp, a summertime training ground for Iditarod sled dogs. Learn about mushing and hold puppies while the team is prepared. Then take an exhilarating ride along a spectacular glacier trail.
