It's been said that only two cities in North America shut down for business during their festivals. One is New Orleans during Mardi Gras - the other is Calgary, during the world famous Exhibition and Stampede!
The main event is the million dollar outdoor rodeo, the largest in the world. Every afternoon, cowboys compete in clasic events: saddle and bareback bronc riding, calf roping, steer wrestling and bull riding. Another feature event is the thrilling action of the evening chuckwagon races, followed by a spectacular stage show and fireworks display. Add free pancake breakfasts, showbands, First Nation Exhibitions, concerts by big-name performers, and you've got all the ingredients for a memorable time that must not be missed.
