This is me in Alaska, taking in the sights of Sitka, one of the ports of call on our Cruise West Inside Passage trip.
It is one of the oldest non-Native settlements in Southeast Alaska and is a treasure trove of Russian, Tlingit and United States history. The local community are very proud of the history and heritage and the colourful totem poles in the Historical Park are a testament to this.
Continuing with our cruise, we saw humpback whales at play, sea lions, puffins and otters, not forgetting the spectacular glaciers and fjord waterfalls. This truly was a once in a lifetime experience.
